1930's
The Hunt's family operate a dairy farm in Dorset making ice-cream.
1940's
A new generation of the Hunt's family inherit the farm and ice-cream business and the foundations of the business were created by Michael Hunt.
1950's
Michael Hunt started a van sales operation throughout Dorset and surrounding counties which gave him the opportunity to be one of the first in the area to sell frozen foods.
1960's
Thanks to the forward thinking nature of Michael Hunt and the excellent reputation he developed, the business rapidly grew and moved into a 100,000 cu.ft cold store in Sherborne.
1970's
Growth continued in 1974 and focus on frozen food increased which was supported by a new 1.2 million cu.ft cold store and office building.
1980's
An additional 300,000 cu.ft cold store warehouse was added to the companies capabilities and to meet with increasing demand.
1990's
Hunt's acquire a 2,360 pallet, purpose built cold store in Stalbridge and provide public cold storage facilities and blast freezing at Sherborne HQ.
2000's
The business had grown beyond recognition from its original base and prudent financial management provided the opportunity to strategically acquire other key businesses. From Winchester, Western-Super-Mare and the Isle of White, Hunt's now had the location and capability to service customers across the South West.
2010's
The company completed an internal restructure and due to increasing demand, resource was enhanced along with greater customer support to ensure quality and satisfaction. Hunt's acquired distribution facilities in Cornwall which has strengthened its relationships with key Cornwall businesses.
THE FUTURE
Hunt's Foodservice are investing in innovative technology in order to increase efficiency and enhance product offerings and service to its ever increasing customer base.
